Scrapbook cuttings are a great way of mapping a band’s history – snapshots of all the ‘newsworthy’ happenings over the years!

Cutting from 1991 about the sponsored blow in Royston town centre. £230 was raised by playing 100 tunes non-stop over 5 hours – hope they took it in shifts!


The band and its members have had various mentions in the British Bandsman over the years – here the article talks about one of our regular twinning visits with Royston’s twin town in Germany.


When the army’s Minden band led the Remembrance Day march in 2001, controversy followed… a writer to the Royston Crow expressed their concern that an injustice had been done to the band by replacing them with professionals, despite their long service in the community. The reply is interesting proof that there are 2 sides to every argument!
